FAQ
Straight answers about metal roofing
The questions Matt hears most, answered plainly. If yours is not here, the fastest way to a real answer is a phone call.
- Is a metal roof really worth it over shingles?
- Yes, for most homes. Shingles are the cheaper sticker price and the more expensive roof over time, because you replace them two or three times in the span one metal roof lasts. Metal is one roof, done once. That is the value gap.
- How much more does metal cost than shingles?
- Less than most people expect. The up-front gap is real but smaller than the double-the-price most homeowners assume, and it closes fast once you count the shingle roofs you skip. The honest number depends on your roof, so Matt gives you a free estimate with the shingle math right next to it.
- How long does a metal roof last?
- ML installs a 40-year metal system through Ramco. Installed right, it outlasts the mortgage and several shingle roofs in a row.
- Is a metal roof loud when it rains?
- No, not the way people picture it. Installed over solid decking with proper underlayment, a metal roof on a house is about as quiet inside as shingles. The tin-roof-in-the-rain sound comes from open barns, not finished homes.
- Will it dent, rust, or fade?
- ML uses a heavier grade of panel than a lot of crews, with a baked-on finish made to hold its color, and Ram Panel carries a 40-year warranty. Metal sheds rain and snow instead of soaking them up, and it stands up to the wind and weather that comes through northwest Ohio.
- Do you do more than roofs?
- Yes. Metal roofing is the core, and ML does vinyl siding, decks, and windows too, to the same standard.
- What areas do you serve?
- ML is based in Grover Hill and works across Paulding County and about an hour out, into Defiance, Van Wert, and toward Fort Wayne. If you are in northwest Ohio or just over the Indiana line, call and ask.
- What does it cost to find out?
- Nothing. The estimate is free and the answer is straight. No pressure and no upsell. Call Matt or send a few details and he will get back to you.
